An alternative email editor for Sendy
Sendy is a self-hosted email program that uses Amazon Simple Email Service for email delivery. It’s a popular choice for sending emails among users of the BEE editor, who find BEE to be a great complement to their Sendy account.
The program includes a basic HTML editor, but those that want design flexibility, a quicker creation process, and inbox rendering peace of mind, design their emails with BEE and then import it into Sendy. There are a couple of ways to do so. Here they are.
Importing an email template (or message) into Sendy
Sendy – BEE Free Uploader
A user of both Sendy and BEE developed a tool to make the process easier and faster, and decided to make it available to everyone on Github. A big thank you to userexec!
What the tool does is to add a feature to the HTML editor that’s built into Sendy. Users click on this new feature, and can easily and quickly import their BEE-designed message.
For instructions on how to install and use the tool, see the brief instructions on the application’s Github page. This tool is also listed inside Sendy under Settings > Third Party Resources and Integrations
Zapier – Sendy integration
You can also add an email designed with BEE to Sendy by using Zapier, a popular service that helps applications communicate and exchange data.
Here is how this works:
- Zapier gives you a special email address
- You use the ‘Quick Send’ feature in BEE to send an email from BEE to that special address
- A draft campaign is automatically created by Zapier in Sendy
For this to work, you will need:
- A Zapier account
- Your Sendy account
- Setting up a task (Zapier calls them “zap”) that connects the two applications. Other people have already done this, so Zapier already has a template zap for you. It’s called “Send emails to create Sendy draft campaigns“. You will find it among the zaps listed on zapier.com/zapbook/sendy/
